Make our crystal awards and trophies extra special by creating a meaningful personalization message that will really move and impress the recipients. If you are looking for creative ideas on how to personalize an award or a trophy please consult the following reference composed by our most experienced staff.
Please remember that personalization layout may vary on the nature of award and branding guidelines of your organization.
Organization logo may be positioned at the top or the bottom of the awards etch space. In order for the logo to stand out on the award, we recommend leaving some space between the logo and the rest of the text. Positioning of the logo may also be dictated by the engravable size of the logo in relation to the award etch space. For example: if the award etch space is triangular and the logo is fairly wide, it would fit and look the best at the bottom of the award rather then the top. Logos provide a visual anchor on the award etch space, thus it has to be big enough to stand out but not too large as to take attention from the rest of the text.
Depending on the nature of the recognition project the award may have a name or a title, however it is optional. For example: Sales Person of the Month, VIP, President's Circle Club, Team Player, Sales Achievement, Top Performer... The award name is a short summary of what the person is being recognized for. Font size for the award name should be the second largest after the recipient's name.
The recipient's name carries the most significance and should stand out the most within the etch space of the award. There are various graphic approaches to making the recipient's name the focal point of the award. For example the name can be displayed in bold font, large font size, all capital letters, italicized or underlined. It can also be anchored between graphic elements that further draw attention to the recipient's name. Quite often the name is preceded with the following text: presented to, honoring, in special gratitude.
Personalization message is optional and should be consistent with the nature of the award. If composed properly, the personalization message can enhance the sentiment. If the message is too verbose and not clear, it would take away from the appearance. We recommend concise and thoughtful personalization messages. If the message is not a full English statement, which is quite common, try to omit unnecessary punctuation marks. Example: “presented for your strength and courage” does not require a period at the end. Try not to be redundant in your message. If the award title is “Sales Achievement 2011” then it is clear from the title what it is give for and a message may not be necessary. Also, please consider the etch space of the award. If you selected an award with a fairly limited etch space then consider short message or omit it all together.
It is customary to start personalization message text with the following phrases:
in recognition of
thank you for
with special gratitude for
in special appreciation of
honoring
Next, list recipient's qualities that you wish to emphasize. You can choose from the following words of praise: dedication, devotion, commitment, hard work, loyalty, many ears of service, motivation, inspiration, leadership, creativity, ingenuity, successful execution of organizational goals, donation, generous contributions, support, extraordinary achievements, memories, passion, innovation, excellence, devotion, professionalism, caring, mentoring, pioneering, honor, intelligence .
Do not make personalization text too wordy. Remember: less is more. You may also consider personalization text tailored specifically for a particular award theme. For example, if you select our crystal star award you can personalize it in the following fashion: Mary Jones, You are our shining star.
Some customers choose to include a date in their personalization copy. A date can be when the award was presented or when the accomplishment that the person is being recognized for occurred. For example : retirement date, project completion date, project initiation date, anniversary date. A date can be displayed in the following fashion: June 15, 2018; June 2018 ; 2018.
