Care Instruction for Lead Crystal
Dishwasher
Preferably use a liquid or gel detergent suitable for decorated or delicate items (as
indicated on the back of the pack)
If you want to use a classical or compact powder, make sure that you do not exceed the
recommended amount
The use of '3 in 1' tablets (with incorporated salt) requires the complete absence of
salt in your machine
It is not necessary to rinse the items before placing them in your dishwasher as the
detergent will start acting on the surface of the glass instead of the dirty marks
Choose (according to the options available on your machine) the 'fragile' or 'special
glass' setting , on moderate temperature.
Set the salt distribution in your machine depending on how hard the water is in order to
reach a water hardness between 5 and 8.
Space the items out so that they do not knock against each other
Ensure their complete stability in your dishwasher
Handwash
Never use a metallic scouring pad or a scratch sponge, use a soft sponge
Use lukewarm soapy water
Rinse your lead crystal items in water at the same temperature, as lead crystal is
sensitive to thermal shocks
Leave items to drain
Dry them gently with a soft cloth, taking particular care, in case of the stemmed
glasses and making sure that you hold them by the bowl, not by the foot. You might break the
stem by holding the glass by the foot.
